Established in 1985, KVT specialises in experiential, active India tours and destination management services, offering packaged and tailor-made adventure, culture and nature holidays across India and Nepal for families, small groups and independent travellers.

With a proprietary network of ground logistics, operational bases and preferred-access partnerships with hotels and resorts across India, KVT offers complete end-to-end destination services that include: itinerary planning and research, full-service ground handling arrangements including hotel and travel reservations, trained multi-language guides and support staff, transportation, quality cycling and camping gear, obtaining regulatory permissions and clearances for professional climbing expeditions.

Our experience, niche adventure expertise, innovative products and quality of service are well-established and recognised, with four National Tourism Awards from the Government of India - three for best adventure tour operator and one for outstanding performance as best inbound tour operator.

KVT was founded in 1985 by Mr. Mohan Tickoo, a seasoned traveler and ardent supporter of sustainable tourism practices and policies, which have been integrated into all aspect of our product development and ground logistics. Both Mohan and KVT are directly involved in various sustainability initiatives and community programs in India both independently and in close co-operation with our domain partner, Friends of Conservation, UK.

KVT is a recognised adventure and culture tour operator by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, a registered adventure tour operator with the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and also affiliated with leading regional and international travel and conservation organisations.

Adventure Tours

Our catalogue of innovative adventure programs range from soft and moderate trekking, cycling and safari tours in north India, Kerala and Rajasthan to more skilled and high-altitude activities across Ladakh and Zanskar, Himalayan regions of Himachal Pradesh, Garhwal, Sikkim, Nepal and Bhutan. These include moderate to challenging trekking programs, high-altitude biking and cycling tours, jeep safaris and specialist experiential adventures for families, small groups and independent travellers.

Over the last decade, our focus on developing soft adventure programs such as walking and trekking, cycling tours and tiger safaris in popular leisure destinations of Kerala and Rajasthan have been great successes and given KVT a pioneering distinction in developing innovative travel experiences that combine the cultural riches and natural abundance in these places with an active thrill of participatory adventure.

Culture and Nature Tours

India’s vast cultural and natural diversity has always been a secret of its attraction. From Taj Mahal to Thanjavur, Thar desert to tiger sanctuaries, our tours celebrate this rich abundance of culture and nature with off-the-beaten-track perspectives that are authentic, engaging and equally rewarding to both new and returning visitors.

These include cultural and discovery tours around Taj Mahal and north India, Rajasthan and Gujarat, Kerala and south India; wildlife tours across India’s national parks, sanctuaries and tiger reserves and specialist experiential tours such as ancient buddhist pilgrimage trails, rural programs, culinary tours, home stays, yoga and ayurveda retreats.

Climbing Expeditions

It is no secret that Himalayas offer some of the greatest mountain climbing opportunities for every one with a spirit of adventure and a daring will to challenge one of its majestic peaks. Mountain climbing in the Indian Himalayas requires prior authorisation and permission from the Government of India regulated through the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF). Expeditions from overseas are also required to pay a peak royalty fee (amount depending on the peak height, location etc.) and a specific liaison officer is assigned for each expedition.
